4 7 2 Subaru Hosts Free Child Safety Event

submitted by Hudson Police Department On Saturday, December 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Hudson Police and DNA LifePrint will be at Subaru of Nashua, located at 193 Lowell Road, to conduct a free Child Safety event. The event, endorsed by John Walsh, host of America’s Most Wanted, will allow parents to obtain their child’s DNA and fingerprints. The Hudson Police will have a detective and a police officer at the event to answer questions, and to give a tour of the Hudson Police Crime Scene Vehicle. This program provides parents with the vital tools recommended by the FBI and the Department of Justice. Biometrics is the newest and most advanced technology

available today for obtaining fingerprints. We are privileged to be able to use the same equipment presently used by Federal Agencies, Law Enforcement, and the U.S. Military. Law Enforcement know that time is critical in the recovery of a missing child. The Biometric Technology our program brings to parents allows their child’s fingerprints to be immediately submitted into the FBI Database as soon as they are reported missing. When the child’s fingerprints are entered into the FBI Database, the fingerprints become immediately available to all law enforcement agencies throughout the United States.

After each child goes through the line, parents are handed a Child

Safety Journal (which contains the biometric fingerprints and digital photo) and a DNA Kit. The DNA Kit contains detailed instructions on how to use the DNA Kit at home. The only record of the visit is handed to you to take home; the event sponsor keeps no records on

file. You will also be given John Walsh’s Child Safety Tips. All the information provided at this Child Safety Program is recommended by child safety experts and law enforcement officials to be updated every six months. If a child becomes missing, parents greatly increase their chance

of quickly recovering their child if they immediately provide a FBI-certified Biometric 10-digit fingerprint profile, a DNA sample, a high-resolution, full-color photograph; and current statistical information.

Foundation will be holding its Annual Silent Auction/Dinner for Charity at The King’s Court and Banquet Hall on Tuesday, December 7, at 6 p.m. Cost to attend is $25 per person, which includes a buffet dinner. The public is invited to join the Chamber for a great meal and possibly win some fabulous prizes—all while raising funds for a worthwhile cause! The event is a combination of raffle items and silent auction items, which include event tickets, gift baskets, holiday items, gift certificates, and much more! Showtime Computers has again stepped up and will be donating a “Jar of Money” to be raffled off, along with a donation from Matibo’s Salon for a “Three Night Stay in Provincetown, Cape Cod!” The GHCC is also welcoming items for the auction. This will be the 11th year in which the monies received during

the evening will be donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Society. The Society, which was established over 20 years ago and is operated through Blessed John Parish at St. John the Evangelist Church in

Hudson, assists many local families by maintaining a food pantry, assisting with rent and utility bills, and especially helping during the holidays by distributing food baskets and gifts to families in need. This year, the call for services such as food requests, assistance with medical needs, fuel assistance, and basic living expenses has dramatically increased, making participation even more important. Last year, more than 70 businesses donated wonderful items for the auction. Then, with over 100 guests in attendance showing their holiday spirit and generosity by participating in the auction, the Chamber was able to raise over $5,300. During the past 11 years, the GHCC Annual Auction has donated over $39,000 for the benefit of our community. The Silent Auction/Dinner will be held on Tuesday, December 7, at 6 p.m. Reservations and item donations can be made through the Chamber office by calling 889-4731 or visiting www.HudsonChamber.com for more information. Current event sponsors are Enterprise Bank, Area News Group, Financial Insurance Services, Red Brick Clothing, Tsubaki Flowers, and Web Action Group.
