New wood pellet plant
DEVON Biofuels Ltd has recently commissioned a new wood pelletising plant. The plant includes a sawdust
drying facility and will provide high quality wood pellets (that are suitable for wood pellet boilers), animal bedding and cat litter.
The company is aiming to produce the sustainable wood pellets by generating its own electricity. Devon Biofuels Ltd will be generating the electricity in a way that will qualify for the new Feed-In tariff system. Under this system, money is
given by the Government to businesses that generate electricity with small-scale green energy installations. The company hopes its electricity generating initiative
will reduce production costs and lower its carbon footprint. The pelletising plant project has been partly funded by Defra, through a grant awarded under the Bio-energy Infrastructure scheme. The plant was supplied by
