Award for long service


PHIL Sparks, the manager of the Honiton branch of Bradfords Building Supplies Ltd, has completed 25 years’ service with the company. Phil joined Bradfords in 1985 as a sales executive at the Bridgwater branch in Somerset. Following a number of appointments within the company, he became manager of the Exeter branch in 1997 before moving to his present position at Honiton in East Devon in 2004. To mark Phil’s long service, Dennis Smith, the managing director of Bradfords Building Supplies Ltd, presented him with a handmade oak bedside cabinet on behalf of the company.


This unique piece of


furniture had been selected by Phil and specially designed and made for him by Oak Leaf Furniture of Milverton, Somerset. Outside of work, Phil is the team leader of the Exmoor Search and Rescue Team, who assist the police in the search for missing persons over wide areas of Devon and Somerset.


Bradfords is a family-


owned private group of companies whose principal businesses are builders merchants (Bradfords Building Supplies Ltd) and the importing and processing of timber (Bradfords Timber Supplies Ltd trading as Snows Timber and Crendon Timber Engineering).
