Get into the Christmas spirit this year with a visit to the stunning setting of Mount Edgcumbe House for their 7th Annual Christmas Fayre.
Saturday 11th 10.00am - 5.00pm Sunday 12th December 10.00am - 4.00pm
With more stalls than ever selling the exciting, the gorgeous, the unusual and also scrumptious goods; more chefs demonstrating their skills than ever before and a host of entertainment, there’s something for everyone.
Mount Edgcumbe House will be throwing open its doors on the
weekend of 11th and 12th December to offer a slice of seasonal cheer, a dash of cooking expertise washed down with lots of ideas for special presents.
The house overlooking Plymouth Sound is preparing for its best-ever fayre with over 50 stalls selling crafts, gifts and locally-produced food. There will be seasonal cooking demonstrations by top local chefs such as Peter Gorton, Matt Corner, Didier Franchet and many more on both days, as well as a full programme of entertainment including music from Choirs from Fourlanesend and Millbrook Schools, Harpist Pam Adams plus the Kessenyan singers and Reflections choirs. Santa will also be taking a break from his hectic schedule and flying in for a visit on both days at 3pm.
Park Manager Ian Berry said: “Here at Mount Edgcumbe we have gone through an exciting period of redevelopment and opened our newly refurbished Barrow Park Centre to the public. An instant hit with our visitor, we are very proud of the new Stables Café which will be open during the event, and the Shop and Plant Centre, both of which will have a presence within the Christmas Fayre this year. The fayre is going from strength to strength and we had almost 4,000 visitors last year who came to find that special gift for Christmas, enjoy the wonderful floral displays from the floristry students at Duchy College or just to enjoy the demonstrations from the chefs and the delightful entertainers - so avoid the queues and come early!”
Admission for the fayre at Mount Edgcumbe House is £2 for adults and £1 per child.
There is free parking and a mini bus service on the estate running on both days.
