The Capital Courier: Extra
Meet your 2008-2009 District Board!
Heather Waite Governor
Hi Capital! My name is Heather Waite and I am
your governor for the 2008-2009 year. I am currently in my fourth year at Virginia Tech pursuing triple majors in business. After I graduate, I hope to either become a lawyer or work for Heinz. My dream job though would be to combine the two and become a lawyer for Heinz! Some fun things about me…I can’t open my mouth all the way because of a color guard incident in high school and there was also a time when I hated ketchup…but that was a very long time ago and I have come to realize how awesome ketchup is on everything! I really love to drive and
am always up for a road trip so let me know if your club has any events coming up because I would love to drop by. I guess that’s it for now…I can’t wait to meet you all as we ketchup to service this year!
Tanya Sperling Secretary -Treasurer I'm Tanya Sperling and I'm really excited to be your Secretary/Treasurer this year. Most of you may
remember me as the Con-Con chair from DCON! I am a soon to be December graduate from the College of William and Mary with a major in Psychology & Religious Studies. I am from a small town called Lib- erty, NY. Other activities I'm involved in are Hillel (Jewish Students Organization), & Transfer Student Ambassadors. Some of my goals is to have 2/3 of the clubs in our district pay early bird dues this year and to have 2/3 of the clubs turn in MRFs on time every month. I also want to start having AIM Chat discus- sions with Secretaries and Treasurers so that we can bounce ideas off of each other and talk about anything people have questions with. Now for some cool stuff about me. When I have time I enjoy playing the
violin. I have recently fallen in love with Guitar Hero, my favorite song to play is "When You Were Young" by The Killers. I love the music soundtrack from High School Musical and sing it my head sometimes. I have traveled abroad several times in the last year. During my winter break I was in the Dominican Republic working with an orphanage and during Spring Break I traveled to Israel. This sum- mer my plans are to have an internship in NYC, travel to Denver to LSSP/ICON and go to Israel again.
