Your husband told us:“She’s a very special person and not because she took my last name. That is a bonus.

When I first met her at a professional networking event in Rochester, she struck me as a very professional, intelligent, driven person. At networking events, you do the old, “this is who I am and what I do” and you walk away hoping you can help each other grow business.

Right from the start, I was intrigued by this woman who had a stable career as a parale- gal in a law firm and then decided she had more to offer. She took what she knew (the law) and the area that excited her the most and fed her entre- preneurial desire.”

Would you care to comment on that? My husband is my best cheerleader! I

take a lot of risks. When the going gets rough, he talks me down from the ledge. He’s my soul mate – the love of my life.

In an earlier conversation with KNOW, you mentioned your CEO is aware that you want to be CEO of the company. How did you reveal that? How can he/she groom you for the position? Let me clarify a bit. My CEO is not look-

ing to make me the CEO. Right now he is the CEO & President. He wants me to be President of the company. I do not desire to be CEO. He sug- gested in a very casual meeting we had over cof- fee that he would like to make me the President of the company.

I am not after his job but he is motivating me to be successful in this company and to take over leadership. What that means to me is that he is placing a high-level of trust in my ability to grow this business. He’s actually grooming me by putting a lot of the major decision-making responsibility in my hands. He expects me to be a leader for this business and the industry.

Tell us how you came to have so many contacts in the paralegal world? One sure way to meet so many legal profession-

als is by getting active in associations. I am a PACE Reg- istered Paralegal as well.

Basically, what you are saying is that you leveraged your contacts. I think that would be an accurate statement. I lis-

tened very closely to the experts who kept saying, “net- work, network, network."

Are you convinced joining associations helps your career? Absolutely.

My past profes- sional service in- cludes VP & Direc- tor of Profession Development and Corporate Member Relations Manager; VP of Communica- tions; Rising Stars Event Owner; the National Federa- tion of Paralegal Associations; VP & Director of Profes- sion Development; Strategic Planning Committee Chair; Vice
