“Thumbs down to the TSA. Since your inception there have been nothing but problems. You don’t pay your help much more than a fast food restaurant so don’t tell us you’re ALL ’Security Experts!’ We saw how the Bush administration played with the threat level, so don’t say that justifies you to violate the Public. Air traffic was just as safe when they had cops at the gates and no one got violated. Homeland Security needs a makeover !”
“Thumbs down to the irresponsible dog walkers near Old Rockingham Road. Please be courteous, respectful, and responsible and CLEAN UP after your dogs. It is the right thing to do. It is not right for children and other people to step in it and spend time cleaning it off their shoes and clothing. Do the right thing!”
“Thumbs down to those who oppose marriage
equality. Marriage is a civil right for all people, not a privilege for a few.”
“Thumbs up! to the coaching staff of the Salem Boy’s and Girl’s Swim Team. Courtney and Ian are doing a phenomenal job with the younger ones - their instructional practices are terrific! Chris is keeping the older one’s going with improving technique as well! Overall this coaching staff is the best I’ve ever seen. ‘Thumbs down’ to the facility for not fixing the Handicap Shower, it’s been broken for 4+ years. The locker room showers and floors are scary, they could certainly use
a good cleaning as well. Yuck! The lighting along the building non-existent. Extremely dangerous, no one can see the curb to step down to their cars.“
down to the person who is defending ‘Phantasm.’ First of all get your facts straight. He is ‘not’ homeless. Secondly, if this neatly dressed
10 cheerleaders. You girls rocked the Verizon! New Hampshire State Champions and second place in the New England Region. You girls are amazing and we are so proud of you! All that hard work and long practices. Now you get to compete for the National Title. Go Rams!”

“Thumbs down to the clerk at Rite Aid on Rte 28 in Salem, when I went in and asked if they had veterans day cards and all I got with a nasty smirk. And a Nooooooooo. What a jerk. Thank you CVS for having them!!”
gentleman has mental issues, that is all the more reason that he should not be wandering the streets. Darting in and out of traffic on South Broadway is inexcusable no matter what condition you are in. Maybe you would think differently if your car were involved in an accident because of ‘Phantasm.’”
“Thumbs up to the Town of Salem for having the courage to resist succumbing to left wing political correctness and call the Christmas Parade by its’ appropriate name! Merry Christmas!”

“Thumbs up to he person that wrote each week about the truths about the Obama administration activities. Please do not stop. There is much yet to CHANGE. Also, careful about the new rules with airport pat downs.....th
is infringes on our 4th amendments rights but think of how much more control the government will have in our lives if they make this a military function (nothing
against those in the military). Just one more step into full
control. Just because police or military do it does not mean your rights are protected. Keep fighting and don’t take it.”
“Thumbs up to Tuscan Kitchen owners for honoring our Veterans in such a generous manner! I wish them great success in what I think will be an amazing restaurant.”

“Thumbs up! a big ‘thumbs up’ to the Salem Rams Division
submitted by Donna Sovie The Saints Mite 2 team continues to amaze with its skating and passing skills. On Sunday, November 7, we saw a number of Saints, including Sam German and Mac McCarthy, selflessly agree to play for an undermanned Masco squad. The efforts of Ryan Trainor and Thomas Burke were especially noticed that day. The play of the game went to a German pass. The Saints Squirt 3 provided plenty of biscuits in a basket on a Sunday morning brunch date with the Lady Wizards. They skated away with the 5-2 victory, but it was no cake walk, as these girls came to play.
Joe Depardo started off the festivities
and tallied two for the day. Anthony Survilas, who had a great game, banged home two, and David Olsen snapped one by the goalie on a clean breakaway. The defense was solid, as they jumped on loose pucks in the offensive zone and did a great job clearing in front of their own net. Goaltending by Mason and PJ was solid as usual. The Saints Squirt 1 team tied Melrose,
3-3. The Saints fell behind early in the first, but tied it mid-way through the second on a nice goal by Michael Borelli. The Saints took the lead early in the third on a goal by Brendon Banks assisted by Mason Drouin, but Melrose charged back and scored two goals in three minutes to take the lead. The Saints would not quit, and with the goalie pulled, Joe Moore made a nice pass to Steve Birch, who took a hard wrist shot that was tipped in by Jimmy Harootian with only 17 seconds to play to tie the game. Charlie Beneze, Sebastian Farah, Jon Pinksten, and Birch played strong defense, while Matt Dowdy was spectacular in the net. The Saints Mite 2 team had their first full ice game on Saturday morning, November 13, and the boys came out ready to play. Although a little out-matched by a speedy Top Gun team, our guys held their own and

for, once again, axing the useless code enforcer job. To see why, just drive up Millville Street and check out the last house on the left, before Lake Street. There are up to eight ‘cars’ in various states of disrepair in the small drive and on lawns to both sides. There are also jacks and other stuff all around. If no one is on your rear bumper, take a quick look into the back yard and note it is crammed with trucks, trailers, one or more boats, portable shelters and other junk. It’s hard to believe the code enforcer does not see this in his rounds of the town. Is this a car customizing business? Even if not, it’s an outrageous mess. And I pity the poor person trying to see the cute, little house across the street. Lots of luck.”

looked great out there. The Saints lone goal was scored by Evan Foskett on a penalty shot. The Saints Squirt 1 team split the weekend with one win and one loss. After their 7-0 defeat from Chelmsford, the Saints Squirt 1 team bounced back by beating Wilmington 5-2 on Sunday afternoon. Birch scored just 17 seconds into the game, with Drouin picking up an assist. Drouin then added one of his own with just over a minute to go in the second on a nice play from Jon Last and Borelli. Just eight seconds later, Borelli scored to give the Saints a commanding, 3-1 lead. Beneze and Harootian scored in the third with assists going to Mason Healey and Drouin. The Saints were anchored by goaltender Dowdy, who received stellar defense by Birch, Moore, Jon Last, and Healey. The Saints Bantam 2 team played on
Monday, November 8, against a tough Newburyport B2 team. Salem’s Dominic
Bruzzese started off the scoring 20 seconds into the game. The play was back and forth until Newburyport scored in the second period to tie the game at one. Newburyport would go ahead late in third period and, with 22 seconds left in the game, Bruzzese would get his second goal of the game, assisted by Jared Carlson and Evan Zabarsky. The game ended in a tie, 2-2.
On Saturday, November 13, the Saints Bantam 2 team lit it up with a 6-1 win against Waltham’s Bantam 3 team. Ryan Nelson had a hat trick. Bruzzese also had a goal, as well as Jake Yennaco and Ryan Montbleau. Assists went to Montbleau, Brad Brock, Carlson, and Dawson Merrill, with great goaltending by Andrew Gosson and Tommy Gillespie. We had some great defensive play by Dustin Kingsley, and great forechecking by Jimmy Tokanel and Seth McCarthy.

“Thumbs down to the school librarian! She can
go back to where she came from. She has a rotten attitude, she is always yelling at the kids, she is rude to the volunteers, she walks like her nose is up in the air. She can go back to whatever town she came from and we should get a librarian who has a personality and likes people.”
“Thumbs down to the Salem selectmen,
town manager and lawyers for not going after reimbursement from Downing for 16 years of disability payments that came from taxpayer money when he has been able and capable of working all this time. Does the sheriff’s car have handicap plates? Please do not give this cheat a gun because he would probably shoot himself in the foot to get another disability, but from the county this time.”
