MICHAEL SCHWARTZ
Michael Schwartz is a Brooklyn-based writer, actor, and director, currently writing a book of short stories, po- ems, and monologues, set in Coney Island. He has per- formed some of these pieces as a guest on the WKCR FM radio program Art Waves, at The Museum of the City of New York, The Brooklyn Book Festival, The Puffin Room, Coney Island USA, and other venues. Schwartz played the lead role of the Brooklyn rabbi in the film The Rabbi’s Dilemma, and toured his one-man play In The Shadow of The Third Rail. As an educator, Schwartz taught act- ing to adults with disabilities, was a college adjunct writ- ing professor, a high school English and special education teacher, and a teaching artist doing interactive storytelling and music in hospitals. He earned a double MFA in acting and playwriting from the Actors Studio Drama School at the New School University and trained with the social out- reach theater Living Stage.
