NORA HERTING


Nora Herting is a Brooklyn-based photographer known for humorous work about commercial studio portraits. She received a BFA in Photography from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, and an MFA from Ohio State University, Columbus. Herting’s photographs have been exhibited in numerous Brooklyn galleries including Like the Spice, Jack the Pelican Presents, and Momenta Art, as well as at venues nationally and internationally. She has completed residencies at the McColl Center for the Visual Arts, Charlotte, NC; Triangle Artist Workshop, Brooklyn; Anderson Ranch, Snowmass Village, CO; and a Graduate Teaching Fellowship at Ohio State University. This past year, “Free Sitting,” her interactive, site-specific photo event, was found at Soho20 Chelsea Gallery, Like the Spice Gallery, and at the Wassaic Arts Festival.
