In many offices, lights are left on at 100 per cent output all day, regardless of how much daylight is entering a room or whether anyone is actually occupying that room. Artificial light will only be used to compliment natural daylight in order to reach a predetermined light level if people are occupying the room, otherwise the lights will turn off automatically.
