Although the show was smaller than previous years, it was perfectly formed. Full of delectable designs, this year’s exhibitors showed plenty of new and inspiring designs.

arturo alvarez - GEA arturo alvarez has been making decorative lamps since 1994. The success of the company is based on providing objects of great and unique personality, for both private and public environments. GEA is made from silicone and is available in white, black, orange or blue. It stands 180cm x 28cm in diameter. www.arturo-alvarez.com

bsweden - Silhuett bsweden introduced new members of the Siluett family at the show. Created by Malin Skold, Siluett is a playful collection that takes the concept of an illusion to another level. The graphic outline of a lamp has been developed into a three-dimensional form now presented in one more size and in crisp colours. www.bsweden.com

Lasvit - Icefalls and Leaf

The Lasvit stand was certainly the most prominent at the show. The stand´s concept was a reflection of an organic landscape formed by Icefalls. Fixtures on the stand included Icefalls designed by Jitka Kamencová Skuhravá and Leaf designed by Katarína Fulínová Kudějová. Both lighting fixtures are made from hand-blown glass in the Czech Republic and are externally lit by LED. www.lasvit.com

TENSHI7 - Time Square

Is it a light or a clock? Its actually both. Time Square consists of 12 cylindrical aluminum lighting components. LED lighting (12W) is integrated in each cylinder while a dimmer system ensures a wide brightness variation. The illuminated cylinders display digitally the 12 hours twice per day while the lower left horizontal cylinder displays the minutes; 12 circular LED spots light-up based upon a five-minute frequency and fade-away progressively. www.tenshi7.com

Scabetti - Table Top Shoal64

One of my favourite companies, Dominic and Frances Bromley of Scabetti have developed its famous Shoal design in a table top format. This elegant table lamp, with 64 fine bone china fish, stands approximately 54cm high with a 35cm diameter. Just like its parent, each fish is lit not only by reflected light from its neighbours but also from within, with the light passing through the delicate china body. www.scabetti.co.uk
