outhwestern Law School and The Peter F. Drucker andMasatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management have joined forces to create concurrent-degree programs that expand students'


educational and career options. Students at Southwestern and The Drucker School, part of Claremont Graduate University (CGU), are now able to concurrently earn a JD andMaster of Business Administration (MBA), a JD andMaster of Arts inManagement (MAM), or a JD and ExecutiveMaster of Business Administration (EMBA).


These programs enable students to acquire the combination of legal training andmanagement skills that is increasingly in demand in a complex global environment. The collaboration reflects the core values of both Drucker and Southwestern as well as their unique curricula, and the genuine desire to prepare graduates not only for fulfilling careers, but tomake a positive difference in society.


These exciting concurrent-degree programs build on the reputations of these two prominent schools as leaders in the fields ofmedia and entertainment, nonprofitmanagement and public interest law, and transnational corporate governance. Students can pursue a concentration in one of these focus areas or amore general curriculum.

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS Southwestern students pursuing the JD/MBA degree can apply 16 of the units earned at the law school to the 60 units required for theMBA. They complete the additional 44 units at Drucker. This enables themto complete both degrees within 4 to 4 years. (Note: Southwestern also offers a 3- year JD/MBA programas part of its accelerated SCALE® program.) A 48-unit ExecutiveMBA track is another option in which law students with extensivemanagement experience can apply 10 units fromtheir Southwestern courses, leaving 38 units to complete at Drucker. Law students who wish to earn the JD/MAMdegree can apply 6 units completed at Southwestern towards the 32-unitMaster of Arts inManagement degree. The remaining 26 units are to be completed at Drucker. The duration of this concurrent degree is 4 years.


Students fromThe Drucker School pursuing the JD/MBA can apply 16 units earned through the DruckerMBA program to the 87 units required for the JD degree. They complete aminimumof an additional 71 units at Southwestern.
