She’s singing Singing by herself Singing ‘cause that’s All she can do.


Rough hands Rough feet Rough life But a smooth voice.


Calming yet Heartbreaking is the sound That flows from her lips Sweet music.


Not even a tune to her Just the same words Over and over The song dies away.


Cracked voices Heavy hearts And the singer By the road.

Dear Puffins,


I’m a new Puffineer but my mum isn’t. She has just shown me her much-loved stash of Puffin Post magazines. She kept every single one!


We’ve just been on holiday in our camper van to South Stack in Anglesey. While we were there we went birdwatching and guess what, we saw five real live puffins waddling around on the ledges! I’m sorry but my Stuffin’ Puffin (who I’ve named Orville) was at the Puffin Post Party celebrating Phinn winning the election, so he couldn’t come.

Sand dunes Tiny grains piled up high With curves and twists and turns. With giant golden hands stretching over this vast open plain. Constantly on the move Like a dusty yellow sea.
