Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital in Salem is pleased to announce the donation and delivery of AmTrykes to two area children.

As a part of the service project required for his Bar Mitzvah, Drew Ginsberg wanted to raise money to donate an AmTryke adaptive tricycle to a child who is unable to ride a regular bicycle. “One of my favorite things to do is ride my bike. So when I heard about the AmTrykes, which allow kids who normally couldn’t ride a bicycle

to enjoy riding, I wanted to do what I could do to give one of them that opportunity,” he said. Drew, who is a part of the Legends Gymnastic team, asked the owners of the gym in North Andover, MA, to open their facility on a Saturday afternoon to the public, and he invited all of his family and friends to come and enjoy the facilities and learn about the AmTrykes. Many people attended and donated for this project. “I am so excited to have raised enough money to give two children the

Halloween Party this past week for over 235 children. The costumes were out of this world, with Draculas, princesses, clowns, silly animals, and creepy creatures alike. Each costume was unique and in many

cases, very expensive. Games were played until the children came close to dropping on the gym floor. Each child came out with huge bags of candy and very little energy left.

chance to receive an AmTryke. The event was a great success!” exclaimed Drew.

Drew, his family, and some of the donors to his project presented the AmTrykes to James Bostic of Reading, MA, and Anthony Hoffman of Haverhill, MA, who had been fitted for tricycles that were specially adapted to their needs. These cycles arrived at the

Northeast Rehab and were presented to the children, and then they will have their final fittings and take a test drive before taking them home to enjoy with their family and friends. A Bar Mitzvah is a rite of passage to

boys of the Jewish faith as they pass from childhood to adulthood. Drew will celebrate his Bar Mitzvah at Temple Emanuel in Andover, MA, in

January. Drew is the son of Stephanie and Scott Ginsberg of Andover, MA. AmTrykes are unique tricycles that can be hand- and/or foot-operated, and are designed to accommodate riders of all ages, sizes, and varying degrees of physical limitations. Northeast Rehab is the regional assessment center for AmTrykes.

Suzy is a very sweet 2 1/2-yr-old female hound/shep mix who weighs around 75lbs. When Suzy came to us from GA, she was a shy girl who just needed time and

patience to learn that life is good and humans are loving. She has been in a foster home and has made exceptional progress within a family environment. She loves all humans and really enjoys other dogs. According to her foster Mom, a friendly game of tag with the dogs and a nice nap are among her favorites. Suzy is also is crate trained and house trained. Suzy will need to have a

secure fenced in yard as she loves to explore the outdoors. Suzy is a very special girl who has so much love to offer. All she needs is a family to love her....could that family be yours? If you would like to meet Suzy, please complete an adoption application at www.arnne.org.

Shay is a sweet six year old female Rottweiler who came to our shelter as a result of a divorce. She is housetrained, good with kids, walks well on a leash, knows basic commands and enjoys going for rides in the car. She gets along well with dogs but, is not open to living with cats. Shay was given way too many treats in her life so will need several daily walks to help her get her weight to a healthy goal. Due to her weight issue, Shay is only able to climb a few stairs at present. She is not able to climb a large flight or jump in a car (with a boost she will love you for the ride). We are pretty certain

that as her weight issue is worked on, her mobility will pick up.Shay loves to be petted and will nudge you when you sto to tell you she wants more love! Shay will do well in a home with older children and a family who has rottie experience. She will also need a family that has time to walk her to help shed those pounds. If you think Shay would be a good addition to your family

and would like to meet her please apply online at www.arnne.org. She is patiently waiting for her forever home
