INDULGENCES outrageous by jizzona straynger Oh, hi poodles! Mmm…something smells good this month and thanks to Christopher
Columbus who sailed the ocean blue, I think it’s turkey! With Thanksgiving rapidly approach- ing, it’s time to put away my summer bikini and pull out my eatin’ pants to kick-off the holiday season with a fork in one hand and a vodka diet in the other. And speaking of holidays, there’s a very special day rapidly approaching; November 15 and it’s my birthday! I accept gifts, money orders and PayPal online donations! Of course, you could be a doll and just take me out for a few drinks! A lady never reveals her age, but I will say, the shadow of big 30 is upon me, but I’m not quite there yet. For those of you in the Long Beach area, be on the lookout for Fierce: Diva’s of Long Beach Drag calendar where I’m the featured diva for November 2011! For more information on how to purchase a calendar, please visit
cargocollective.com/ stevenhgarcia. As I announced last month, I’ve taken flight again full-time and have been training in
Atlanta for quite some time. I wasn’t sure how those good folks in the ATL were going to take all of this (me), but minus one little hiccup with a taxi cab driver and the Atlanta Police Department, I’ve had a rather lovely time with all that southern hospitality. I will say this about the airline industry; it is an industry full of, as they say, “air mattresses.” I’ve been living in a hotel with three floors of various airline employees in train- ing. It’s like a buffet of lovin’; the option of a different flavor every night is quite possible! I am still on the lookout for Nene from the Real Housewives of Atlanta. I’m bound to run into her or one of her gays eventually. Enough about Atlanta, there’s been plenty going on in OC, LA, and Long Beach
that I’ve enjoyed last month. The highlight of October was Gay Days at Disneyland. It was like church camp for gays. The parties were amazing, the boys were hot and I was able to maintain positive control of my wig on Space Mountain. Monday, October 11, WeHo welcomed the often imitated, never duplicated Lady Bunny to Sassy at Here Lounge. The house was packed and Miss Bunny didn’t disappoint. On October 24, drag queens and celebrities from all over hit up the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angles for the “Best in Drag Show” benefiting Aid for AIDS. Kathy Griffin opened with a hilarious routine and Jason Dudey served as the Master of Ceremonies. Celebrity guest judges included actors from various TV shows and movies including Glee, Two and a Half Men, Parks and Recreation and Drew Carey. A lot of fun was had and a lot of money was raised for this very important organization. It’s becoming a tradition of mine to hit the Tin Lizzy in Costa Mesa as soon as I ar-
rive back in Orange County every Friday. It’s just a great place to meet up with friends, shoot a few rounds of pool and chill while oogling over the pretty OC eye candy. Living in the OC now for just over two years, I am still amazed at how many of you still do not know about Huntington Beach’s little gay gem, Metro Q. Metro Q has revamped its style and is now offering a whole new line-up of weekly entertainment including karaoke, Jewels’ Starlette Review every Thursday, pool tournaments and all new happy hour and weekly specials. Friday and Saturday nights they have a hot DJ spinning with dancing and entertainment. If you haven’t been into the Q lately or never even heard of it, be sure to stop by! Things are changing and I promise you’ll have a s@#t-kickin’ good time! In November, I’ll be welcoming a new bar to the OC, Ibiza Bar and Nightclub in Huntington
Beach. Ibiza will host several special events weekly, including me! I’ll be hosting an all-new drag review weekly as well as monthly bingo events. Ibiza will officially open with a grand kickoff party on November 8. Ibiza is also hosting my birthday party the week of November 15th! Be sure to follow me on Facebook for updates on schedule and times for all the fabulous events coming your way from Ibiza. Stay up-to-date with all the shenanigans going on throughout OC/LA by following me on
Facebook and Twitter. Also, be sure to tune in live every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. for BabbleOn-
Podcast.com where we’re dishin’ the dirt and calling it like it is in LA/OC counties! All right, all poodles, that’s it from me. May your stuffing be tasty, may your turkey be
plump, may your potatoes and gravy have nary a lump. May your yams be delicious and your pies take the prize, and may your Thanksgiving dinner stay off your thighs!
Kisses, poodles! ~Jizzona
