Traditional and Established. Under New Ownership…
There has been a Butchers Shop in Crich Market Square for over a 100 years. Today it is owned and run by Jake Fleetwood who recently bought the business from Ray Elliott who ran the shop for nearly twenty years.
Jake has a wealth of experience working for over thirty years in the meat trade, in the independent sector and also for the large supermarkets and laterally as a buyer for a wholesaler. He has also assisted a number of farm shops as a consultant, helping them set up and expand their businesses. Since June of this year Jake has been at the helm, building upon the already loyal customer base. His philosophy is to give the customer what they want and never compromise on quality. He tries to use as many Derbyshire based suppliers as possible and with the festive season fast approaching Christmas Orders are now being taken for locally produced turkeys, chickens, duck, game and any special requirements including Christmas Hampers.
As an alternative this year customers can order free range cockerels, chickens, geese and bronze turkeys, these are slow grown birds reared with the highest of welfare standards.
From Monday the 1st November through to Saturday the 6th November Crich Butchers are celebrating National Sausage Week. Jake and his staff invite you to call in and sample from over twenty varieties of sausages they have on offer. They are running a special promotion for the whole of November, buy any 4 lbs of speciality sausage and get the 5th lb free!
National Sausage Week is being supported by Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood and Jake is through to the Regional Finals of ‘Britain’s star Sausage’ competition and will be entered into a “Cook Off” with his ‘Sticky Sweet Chilli’ Sausages which will be judged on the 3rd of November at Harts Hotel in Nottingham. So if you are visiting Crich, or you live locally pop in and say ‘hello’ and take a look at the produce on offer.
