Tree surgery The forthcoming winter months are an excellent time to carry out any work on most trees. We are now out of the nesting season until March, so there is no danger of disturbing our feathered friends, which is in my opinion morally wrong but is also illegal.


Also, with the deciduous trees losing their leaves we can better see what we are doing if we need to reshape or carry out any remedial work on them such as dead wooding or taking out damaged limbs etc.


It’s also a good time to remove any trees that you feel have either got too big or are in the way of any of your future gardening plans.


We remove all waste made by the task in hand, and are very thorough when clearing your garden afterwards. Log burners and open fires are enjoying a renaissance at the moment, so if you have one we can cut any wood to the required length for you whilst on your premises.


Hedge Work If your hedges have got a little out of hand over the last few years the best time to take stock and rectify the damage is from now. It will not be possible to reduce your hedge below the recent growth during the nesting season of March to October.


Hedges can also be removed completely, including the roots if necessary, but again only when free of bird’s nests.
