“Thumbs up to Dan H. who makes a great

babysitter. We appreciate it very much!” “Thumbs down Betsi Devries - because of your

vote, Litchfield lost 2 million in education funds. And you consider yourself our State senator - I think not. Vote Tom Deblois on Nov. 2nd!”

“Thumbs up to my fabulous husband for helping me to change my stars. Thanks bunches!”

“Thumbs up to the Alvirne High School nurse,

Mr. Lane and the Hudson EMTS for taking such great care of our son on Wednesday September 29th. It is nice being in a community with such caring people. Thank You!!!”

“Thumbs up to Pizza Man at Connie’s Plaza for supporting CHS Friends of Music. The food and service were wonderful!”

“Thumbs up. Congrat’s to Mike G. for your 18K perfect game. Way to go!”

“Thumbs down to whomever was in charge of the fair at Alvirne recently. There was no advertisement or billboard, the food and drink were too expensive, and we didn’t even make enough to cover the exorbitant $40 table fee. You won’t see us next year.”

“Thumbs up to the HMS administration for

allowing the students to wear ‘I love boobies’ bracelets in school. I am glad they believe in breast cancer research, and even more glad that students are aware of it in middle school!”

“Thumbs up to the Hudson teachers getting

economy but perhaps if the voters had given them a raise a few years back when times were better they wouldn’t have asked for one this time. Besides, taxes will only go up about 234 dollars for the average homeowner. That is only $19.50 per month. Think of it as one less delivery night. I’m sure it won’t break the bank! Thankfully I have not lost my job, but I am a single parent and work multiple jobs. If I can afford an extra 20 bucks per month for quality teachers, I think most people can!”

“Thumbs down to the person who ‘thumbed

down’ the HMS administrators letting the students wear ‘I heart boobies’ bracelets in school. I’ll let you know those bracelets support breast cancer organizations, maybe now, armed with that knowledge you will revise your biased opinion. Boobs feed babies!”

“Thumbs down to most of the auto ‘MECHANICS’ in Hudson. I’ve been to most of the big names in town, and they all do the same SELL not FIX.

“Thumbs down to the GOP for using foreign dollars to fund republican election campaign. China and Saudi Arabia are funneling millions of dollars through the US Chamber of Commerce because President Obama has urged Americans to support small businesses. A vote for the GOP is a vote for more jobs in China.”

their raise. I voted for them to get one and I was not bussed in to do it. I believe they deserved it. When was the last time they got a raise? It is unfortunate that taxes will go up in such a bad

“Thumbs down to the republicans for accepting millions in campaign dollars from communist China in exchange for more shipping more American jobs overseas. This foreign money is being funneled through the US Chamber of Commerce, an anti small business organization.”

“Thumbs up to the paper recycling program at GMS. ‘Thumbs up’ to everyone who is putting

their papers from home into the GMS dumpster so that the school can earn money! If you have not seen the dumpster, it’s green and yellow. All paper (except phone books) can be put in there during school off hours. Everyone can bring paper, it’s not just for GMS families! Let’s see how much we can earn!”

“Thumbs

up to Alex at the Cutler Library for her great customer service! Thanks so much for calling to let me know the library would be closed on Friday!”

down (once again) to the Kiwanis Pumpkinfest. I too was disgusted at the high prices, but even more infuriating was the total lack of organization. Though the weather was rainy on Friday, the sun came up early Saturday morning, giving vendors and exhibitors ample time to get up, get moving, and get ready for the day. At 11:30 on Saturday more than half the booths were not even set up, and cars were still pulling in to unload their wares amidst the pedestrian traffic, which included many young kids. Yes, it was windy, but there was no excuse for not getting your acts together by the 11:00 opening time. I could have slept in and accomplished that. Also, there were dangerous power cords all over the place, flying projectiles and even a truck that backed into one of the tents where I happened to be sitting with my young children. We were lucky to escape with our lives. There was nothing ‘festive’ or family-friendly about this poorly organized event.”

“Thumbs up, WAY up to BOTH the Campbell

JV and VARSITY Girls Volleyball teams. You girls have ALL worked so hard this season and have come a long way from where you started. ‘Thumbs down’ to the naysayers that feel the need to support one team and bad mouth the other.

“Thumbs up to the Alvirne football team for adding Grandma to their coaching staff. Two wins in a row are awesome. Too bad it wasn’t thought of earlier in the year. Why don’t we hear some praise from the people who bashed the coaches earlier in the year, or are you only complainers?”

“Thumbs down to Congressional Candidate

Annie Kuster. She worked as a lawyer and lobbyist for a drug company that manufactured and sold date rape drugs. Now she wants to be a Congresswoman who represents women?”

“Thumbs up, way up to the Musquash Road

lion. Can you possibly get any cuter? Now I see your ready for Halloween!”

”Thumbs up to the Hudson Litchfield Bears 4U football team and the coaching staff!!!”

“Thumbs up to the voters of Litchfield...Let’s

is not the girls fault that neither of the coaches give praise to the teams they do good but only choose to yell at the them when they make an error. That is not the Varsity teams’ fault, it is just unsupportive coaching. It is good to know that somewhere there are coaches that coach with a firm hand yet give praise when deserved, it is just too bad CHS has not found any in the past 2 years. Lets Support all our athletes.”

“Thumbs up -WAY UP! To HLYFC President, Mike Roberts and Vice President, Joe Wetmore for supporting the Cheerleaders at States this past weekend! We really appreciate all the support! Thank you from, Division 15-Cheerleading Squad!”

“Thumbs down to the relentless disinformation campaign against President Obama. Only 8 percent of Americans know that Obama gave 95 percent of American taxpayers a tax cut. He saved 3.3 million jobs with stimulus spending, and salvaged GM and Chrysler from the junkyard. Hope is not magic; it’s not something that happens overnight.”
