Jaguars Fall to Oyster River in Opening Round
by Chris White Windham’s field hockey team ended its first varsity season last
Wednesday, October 20, when it fell to Oyster River by the score of 2-1 in the opening round of the Division 2 tournament. The Jaguars came into the tournament as the 13th seed and had to face the fourth-seeded Bobcats on the road in Durham. All of the game’s scoring happened in the first half. Windham
played a solid game at both ends of the field, but Oyster River eventually came out on top. The lone Windham goal was scored by Ashley Adamson and assisted by Colleen Cooney. Goalie Meaghan Kelly also had a strong game in net with 11 saves. With the loss, the Jaguars’ overall record rounded out at 5-7-3 for the season.
Pelham Volleyball Splits Final Week
by Chris White The Pelham volleyball team suffered a loss at Milford in three games on Wednesday, October 20, but rebounded nicely with a 3-2 victory at John Stark the following Friday. The game scores versus Milford were 28-26, 25-19, and 25-20, while the game scores against Stark were 25-19, 25-21, 25-23, 25-10, and 15-4, with Pelham winning the first, fourth, and fifth sets.
Pythons Close Regular Season with Win
by Chris White The Pelham boys’ soccer team hosted ConVal in its final game of the regular season last Friday afternoon. The Pythons took a convincing 3-0 victory in the final home game ever for their seniors. This year, Pelham’s senior class includes Shawn Robidoux, Peter Soonthornprapuet, Brandon Skinner, Ryan White, Ben Bradbury-Koster, Everett Gibbons, and Richie Sullivan. Pelham built a 2-0 lead by the end of the first half and then added another goal in the second 40 minutes to round out the scoring at 3-0. Pelham goals were provided by Raphael DeCampos, Harley Kierney, and Muhammad Bagegni. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Brian Finney had five saves in net. Finishing the regular season with a 10-5-1 record, the Pythons were seeded ninth for the Division 2 tournament. They faced eighth-seeded St. Thomas Aquinas on the road in the first round of the tournament this past Wednesday.

Pelham’s Ryan White sneaks the ball past a ConVal defender
Alex Hall and Kelsey Kenney played solid defense for the Pythons against Milford. Hall finished the contest with 40 digs, while Kenney amassed 30 digs. Offensively, Kerianne Wilson registered 15 service points and two aces, while Kathryn Mostone led the team with two kills. The Pythons also got strong performances from a number of
players against John Stark. Broghan Gilligan led the team with 38 service points and seven aces, as Roxanne Lapierre contributed 19 service points, two aces, and eight blocks. On defense, Hall had 35 digs and Kenney had 23 digs. Hall provided five assists as well. The Pythons’ regular season record rounded out at 7-9. With that, they were seeded 11th going into the Division 2 tournament and traveled to sixth-seeded Plymouth for the opening round this past Thursday.
Windham Boys’ Soccer Topped by Hollis-Brookline
by Chris White The Windham boys’ soccer team ended its regular season with a 4-2 loss at Hollis-Brookline last Friday. Freshman Tucker Lippold scored his first goal of the season with a nice header off a Casey Coupe cross to put Windham on the board in the first half. The score was knotted up 1-1 at halftime, but Anthony Capozzi scored early in the second half off an assist from Chris Ulbrich to give the Jags a 2-1 advantage. Hollis-Brookline came back with a couple quick goals, though, and then added another one for insurance later on in the half. Goalkeeper Andrew Pesci had a solid game in net once again, as
he made 13 saves this time. Ulbrich, Alex Khoury, and Dan Warner also turned in strong performances. The loss dropped the Jaguars’ record to 6-8-2 this fall as they head into the post-season as the 14th seed. On Wednesday, the Jags faced third-seeded Souhegan in Amherst for their first-round playoff game.
Windham Volleyball Earns Home Playoff Game
by Chris White The Windham volleyball team finished up strong with two wins in the final week of regular-season play last week. The Jaguars defeated John Stark on the road in three games on Wednesday, October 20, and then took a victory in three games at ConVal the following Friday.
Games scores against ConVal were 25-5, 25-7, and 25-17. Delaine Kelly led the team with seven aces, while Brittany Berman and Alex Boucher provided four aces apiece. Boucher also led the team in kills with four, as Tess Powell and Cristy Theriault had three kills each. Berman and Kerry White additionally contributed two kills each, and Melissa Cino added eight assists in the victory as well. Windham finished the season at an even 8-8 with the two victories. The Jags’ record earned them the eighth seed in the Division 2 tournament and the right to host a playoff game in the first round. The Jags began their tournament against ninth-seeded Bedford this past Thursday.
