classes. Tirteen year-old Millie Wonnacott from Ashford in Devon qualified an amazing eight ponies in total for HOYS. Riding the five year old 128cms bay mare Broadgrove Springtime owned by Anne Fowler from Bristol, Millie sparkled under the spotlight aſter clinching the Charlotte Morgan Show Pony championship title in front of a packed audience on Friday evening. Millie’s other qualified rides were; Anne Fowler’s 138cms show ponies; Broadgrove Jester who finished in sixth and Broadgrove Chatterbox. Champlers Storyteller in the 148cms owned by Mrs R Obbard, Dartmoor stallion Moortown Countryman owned by breeders Di and John Jordon, her own 133cms show hunter pony Hollowmarsh Archie and Andrea Boyle’s 133cms working hunter pony My Blue Eyed Boy II. Anne Fowler was also in the spotlight on Sunday when she had the honour of judging the show pony lead rein and first ridden classes. Keith Day from Cornwall made his first visit to HOYS in the Osborne Refrigeration double harness scurry where he finished in sixth on Wednesday, fiſth on Friday and tenth in the final on Saturday. Displays from Frederic Pignon and six stallions enthralled the audience,

Richard Davison gave a HOYS special dressage master class featuring world development squad member Charlie Hutton from the Talland School of Equitation in Cirencester. On Sunday morning five dressage riders Dan Sherrif, Steph Croxford, Rhett Bird, Richard Davison and Jackie Bevan from Gloucestershire went head to head in the HOYS Grand Prix freestyle dressage challenge. Jackie rode Donner Dancer featuring the popular music from the Lloyds bank television advert for her trot work. Te challenge was won by 2009 equestrian of the year, triple Olympian Richard Davison riding his wonderful bay horse Hiscox Artemis. Winners of the British Open H factor Knights of Middle England brought the house down with their exciting tournaments where, as always bad was overpowered by good as the Black Knight was carried out of the arena laid across his saddle.
