“Thumbs down to the Salem Superintendents Office for their ‘investigation’ of an out of town child attending our school system. We told you all you had to do was be outside at 2:45pm everyday to see the child locked out of the home he supposedly lives in. Why no key? Because he is picked up every night. Where is he in the AM? Massachusetts, on his way to Salem. If you want to know how to conduct a thorough investigation, please re-read the second sentence of this ‘thumbs down!’”

“Thumbs down to the Salem School Administration having a blind eye to the report of a Lawrence resident being dropped off in a Salem neighborhood and attending the High School on our tax dollars. Instead of gathering the proof from neighbors that have lived in the neighborhood for more than 20 years, you took the students word that they ‘lived’ with a particular family which is a blatant false statement. This is a slap in the face to the tax paying residents, a slap in the face to the students, and a prime example of a lazy administration.”
“Thumbs down to this newspaper for not requiring people to list the posters’ names when targeting specific people on this page. By posting your name it will eliminate what this paper allows, CyberBullying. This paper continually allows people to post or attack other people by hiding behind their keyboards, this lends no merit whatsoever to there attacks. This Newspaper allows this to happen. If you have something to say, stop hiding and add your name to the end of your post. Many peoples families are affected by comments made by people hiding behind their keyboards, this paper should not allow this to happen. My guess is if people have to leave their names the ‘thumbs up/down’ section will have nothing to print. I will be shocked if they post this.”
“Thumbs down to the person
who responded to the bus issue - I ‘wanna’ know the reasons you think we are so lucky to live in Salem. Could it be the selection of tattoo parlors? Or perhaps the 4 trailer parks? Maybe it is the lack of theaters, non-chain restaurants, sidewalks or any culture in general - yup! We are sure lucky to live here!”
“Thumbs up. This past Friday & Saturday, the Salem Rotary put on its First Annual Greater Salem NH Oktoberfest. While Mother Nature didn’t cooperate, the event still went on. The German food & desserts were great, there was a nice selection of beers & the entertainment was outstanding. The best part was the mingling with all the people who showed up. This fundraiser goes to helping the Rotary, which supports events like giving out dictionaries to school kids, holiday gift baskets for the needy, sponsoring the April fishing derby etc. Peter Rayno, chairman of the committee & all the volunteers did a great job. A special thanks to Rockingham Park for hosting the event & Centerplate for their help in organization the event.”
“Thumbs down. The

Governor spoke at Rotary this week & as usual gave his reasons why he can’t support gambling. Well Governor, just think how life in Salem will be without Rockingham Park. All those people who work there will be without jobs. The
businesses that do work for the track will lose. The non-profits who benefit from gaming will have to cut services. The tax revenue generated will go a long way to helping the surrounding towns & the state in balancing their budgets.
I
just wish he would get it. Salem & the State need Rockingham Park!”
“Thumbs down to Governor John Lynch. His
television attack advertisement against John Stephen was found to have so many factual inaccuracies that he was forced to pull the advertisement off the air.”
taking the time to attend the Salem Rotary Club’s First Annual Oktoberfest at Rockingham Park.
“Thumbs up to Congressman Charlie Bass for It
was great to see him in Salem again. Has anyone seen his opponent? We need Charlie Bass back in Washington to restore fiscal conservatism!”
“Thumbs down to State Representative Carolyn
Webber. During her term in the New Hampshire House of Representatives she voted in favor of a small business income tax, a campsite tax, and a $20 dollar increase to register our car. She then had the nerve to call it ‘fiscally responsible.’ Who is she kidding!? At least she made some of those taxes easier for us to take by then voting to decriminalizing marijuana.”

“Thumbs down to the person who responded to the ‘thumbs down’ I submitted last week regarding the school busses. I am ‘not irresponsible or fact-less’ I watch the bus go up our dead end street 5 times every morning and again 5 times every afternoon. I am all about education - I am also about fiscal responsibility. My point was to question why one bus couldn’t pick up all the children at one time and drop them off at one time - why is it necessary to make so many trips up our street minutes apart?!?! That is wasting gas, which equals wasting money.
I
know I have to pay taxes no matter where I go, but that doesn’t mean I have to agree when the money is wasted.”

603-204-8581 “Thumbs down to Congressman Paul Hodes.
His U.S. Senate campaign hired a polling firm that conducted illegal push polls against Republicans and was fined $20 thousand by the New Hampshire Attorney General. He then had the arrogance and audacity to label the incident a ‘partisan stunt by the Republican Party.’
It’s time
to heave Hodes this November!” “Thumbs down State Rep. Carolyn Webber.
More ‘Letters to the Editor’ and more lies from her liberal cronies. She did not have perfect attendance at the State House this term. She missed 10 votes. Please stop misleading voters.”

Marilinda Garcia, and Walter Kolodziej. The fact that former Representative Tony DiFruscia isn’t supporting them is the best reason why the rest of us should support them! DiFruscia is a sore loser who only cares about his own ego. Please go away! Perhaps back to Massachusetts.”

Representative Tony DiFruscia is crying and pouting because he lost in the Republican Primary. So let’s take a look at Tony’s record and see why he was rejected: He supports

“Thumbs up to Chris Sununu. He did a
magnificent job during the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce debate. He will be a breath of fresh air and energy on the Executive Council. Beverly Hollingworth has been in politics for too long and its time for her to go. She is part of the problem.”
“Thumbs up to a great idea: printing the name
of each town/school district employee along with his/her salary in the Salem annual report. Taxpayers are the employers and employers should know their workers’ names and what each and every one are paid.
China, does Salem have a Board of Health?” “Thumbs down to Salem Selectman Pat
Hargreaves. Anyone who would publicly associate themselves with former Representative Anthony DiFruscia is someone who cannot be trusted, he is a phony Republican, and will never again have my support.
Is your
term up yet, Pat?” “Thumbs up to Senator Judd
Gregg. He was named by Esquire Magazine as one of the ‘10 Best Members of Congress.’ And when the New York Times asked President Obama which Republican members of Congress he trusted enough to work with on economic issues, Obama named just two: Wisconsin Republican Paul Ryan and Gregg, despite that he turned down Obama’s offer to be his Commerce Secretary.”
“Thumbs up, a big 3 knuckle ‘thumbs up’ to
the Spartan women of Lancaster. Thank you for taking the time and effort in putting together a great luncheon for your Spartan warriors. You all truly make every day worth coming in for! As many of the people of ancient Greece had Laconophilia it is easy to see why many of the people of Salem School District may also have Lancasterophilia. Thank you for making every day a pleasure to work for all of you!! Thanks, Your Spartan Warrior Tom.”
“Thumbs up to the creator of
TonyFacts.com
for providing valuable information about Tony DiFruscia.”
“Thumbs down to former Rep. DiFruscia for
being a vindictive sore loser, and resorting to negative campaigning to weasel your way back into the legislature.”
“Thumbs down to Rep. DiFruscia. The voters
said NO to you on Primary Day. You Lost. Give up gracefully like Russ Ingram did.”
“Thumbs down to the lame duck Tony
DeFrusia, a misguided conspiracy theorist for all his accusations fingering innocent representatives who have nothing to do with the people pointing out his record.
It’s the voting record stupid.” “Thumbs down to Lancaster school for the
student council elections –they’re rigged they are always the same kids every year, the teachers little pets.
Just like the student of the year. If you’re a
teacher’s pet your kid is guaranteed to win, it’s the same thing every year!”
“Thumbs down to whoever gave ‘thumbs
down’ to former Representative DeFrusia. He is not a ‘former representative’ and will not be until January 2011, and hopefully will not then. And furthermore ‘thumbs up’ to Representative DeFrusia for voting for the people not the party. That is the definition of having principals and not selling out.”

“Thumbs down to the person who said, ‘anyone with a sign on their property for Beverly Hollingsworth should be ashamed of themselves.’ Well I have a large sign for Bev on my property and I’m very proud of it. Bev served as state rep for 10 years, a senator for 10 years, and on the governor’s council for 4 years. She works for all of her constituents, not just the people in Hampton. Too bad this person didn’t do a little research before badmouthing Bev.”
“Thumbs down a big ‘thumbs down’ to Marilinda Garcia, supposed representative. She’s the only representative we have who has voted against gambling. She’s also has a real lousy attendance record. Hopefully we can get her out this time, I would call her myself and tell her but she is the only candidate who does not list any way to get a hold of her, but hopefully she won’t get back in.”
“Thumbs down to the ‘few’ who write those ‘mean’ letters about Jane Lang. Don’t you realize most of the ‘DEMS’ like her? She brings a lot of good thoughts and ideas to the table. We listen carefully to all her bright and ‘positive’ thoughts and don’t forget how she brought ‘the farmers market’ together (we in town, haven’t)! Keep up the good work Jane, we are all behind you! Imagine if you few opened up your closed door- WOW! I bet we’d all be writing about you’re an you know who you are! The next time you’re out to eat/drink don’t talk so loud-we all know.”
“Thumbs up to John J. Manning! Many, many of us residents voted for him. He was the one we wanted to represent us up in Concord he’s a good, honest man who has done many things for this town and has a care for what happens in Salem and a care for the Salem residents. He has 2 great sons who I know personally and they are the nicest young men, who, like their father, are always out there to help! Keep John Manning in mind – we really need him – there aren’t many left like he is!”

saving money, perhaps they should reconsider how the Salem PD expend time and gas in their cruisers delivering selectmen’s packets to their houses personally. It reeks of elitism and is an enormous waste of the Salem PD’s time. Let’s hope that some major catastrophe is not happening the next time Pat Hargraves summons the Salem PD to deliver his selectman’s packets.”

who said we should vote for Chris Sununu just because he is from Salem. He doesn’t live here anymore and his knowledge of the role of the executive council was lacking in his debate with Bev Hollingsworth last Thursday.
the council submitted a 10-year transit plan and neither the governor or legislature amended it, Sununu’s suggestion to tear it up and start over shows his lack of experience and his arrogance that he knows all.”
“Thumbs down to negative political ads. The It would be very
enlightening and make for a real good read.” “Thumbs down to the men’s room at The Grand
way they are voiced, male or female, the bad photos of the ones being attacked, running the same commercials over and over. All this negativity will produce a positive result and the winner, no matter how he/she wins, will be the better choice. As an example, Nancy Peloise is mentioned in many ads, she might as well be the devil the way she is portrayed. Her grandchildren must wonder why so many people hate her so much. Grandma was right, ‘if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.’ Most politicians don’t take that advice.”
