Pelham’s Richie Sullivan uses his head in the open field


by Chris White The Pelham boys’ soccer team took a 4-2 victory over Pembroke at home on Tuesday. The win improved the Pythons record to 9-4-1 overall, with only two games remaining this season. The Pythons came out of the gate strong, scoring three goals in the first half while holding Pembroke scoreless. Alec Paradis provided two of Pelham’s first half goals as Derek Defranzo scored the other one. Pembroke would score two goals in the second half to cut


Pelham’s lead to 3-2, but Paradis netted one more goal to complete the hat trick and give the Pythons a two-goal cushion for the win. Paradis also broke Pelham’s record for most goals in a season as he notched his 17th goal of the fall.

varsity team was in action for the last time at Muldoon Park this year and came away the victors over Nashua PAL by a score of 45-6. Scoring for the Razorbacks were Kellin Bale, Brendan Smith, Bryce Santos, Joe Frake, and Anthony Gallo. Meanwhile, the defense was once again making it difficult for our opponents to move the ball. Leaders on the defensive unit this week were Shane Lafond, Kurtis Jollicer, Gavin Anderson, and Ryan Rondo. The team moves on to the playoffs, and their semi-finals game is this Saturday (opposing team to be determined).

Goalkeeper Brian Finney also accumulated nine saves for Pelham on the afternoon, while Brandon Skinner and Evan Skinner each contributed one assist. After playing St. Thomas Aquinas on the road on Wednesday, the Pythons will finish up their regular season schedule today at home versus ConVal, and then they will start preparing for the post-season.
