1st - 7th Dyslexia Awareness Week


World Smile Day was created in 1963 by commercial artist Harvey Bell from Worcester, Massachusetts when he fi rst designed the smiley face emblem. Now the most recognised symbol for good and happiness across the world, it aims to promote acts of kindness to make others smile all over the globe.


3rd - 14th Commonwealth Games,


Unite against hunger as over 1 billion people in the world go without food by donating what you can and honouring the date celebrated with a different theme every year, designed to increase awareness, understanding and information about action to alleviate hunger.


18th - 24th National Baking Week 14th Remembrance Day


Every year one week is set aside to promote the awareness of dyslexia and other literacy issues across the UK. This event includes different activities ranging from open days held at schools or book stores to online lectures. The 2010 Commonwealth Games will be the 19th Commonwealth games to take place. This year it is scheduled to be held in Delhi, India and will be the largest multi-sport event ever to be conducted within the city with the opening ceremony to take place within Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

As one of the most important days on the British calendar, Remembrance Day marks the anniversary of the end of WW1, remembering those who gave their lives for others. To commemorate the brave, be apart of the millions who honour their actions in a 2 minute silence at 11 am on Sunday 14th.


Today’s the day teachers everywhere receive the appreciation they deserve where thousands of communities across the globe take the time to honour their local educators, acknowledging the essential role they have in the quality of education every student receives.
