Teams have two minutes to place the grapes in a barrel and with bare feet crush the most juice possible. The juice is measured, strained and weighed to the hundredth of an ounce. Even the least successful krushers receive the Hollow Foot Award for the last place fi nishers in each heat. Krush Teams can enjoy two wine tastings for the price of one, saving them $10, and there will be food specials, Kokopelli’s award-winning wine and Four Peaks Beer all weekend long.

Minchella says Krush 2010 promises to be “bigger and better than ever,” and will be the central focus of historic downtown Chandler for the weekend, held in front of the Kokopelli Winery and Bistro on Boston Street. Kokopelli Winery is a local, family-owned winery and restaurant, founded in 1994 by Don and Carol Minchella, now operated by Minchella and wife Melissa. Kokopelli Winery is celebrating its 15th year in operation producing more than 20 wines, which collectively have won more than 80 medals to date.
