Wallace divides, Hartke unites
Beware! Donna Wallace is running for city council again. Her supporters say she fights for what she believes, but as a councilmember, Donna is one of the most divisive people I’ve ever witnessed. She helped turn the council into a 2-year, 3-ring circus that included Donna leading the charge to fire our city manager a few years ago. Donna is a liberal spender with our tax money. Her campaign openly touts that she voted to reduce the city’s contingency funds using the money to favor the unions that helped her win her last term in office. Thankfully, her proposed spending of millions of dollars to arguably improve a 202-freeway adjustment was voted down by the rest of the council in the early 2000’s. Her proposal would have displaced many homes and families. When she was finally termed out of office, she ran for the State’s House of Representatives. Our citizens gave her only 19 percent of that vote, basically telling her to hit the road. So, why is she running for the council again? She must believe that we have forgotten her disdainful and dubious disposition. My vote is for Kevin Hartke, a consensus builder. Rick H. Baskin, Chandler

Hartke cares about Chandler I have known Kevin Hartke for many years. He is an honest, hardworking person who cares deeply about Chandler and its residents. Kevin serves on Chandler’s Planning and Zoning Commission, volunteering many hours of his time to ensure quality development in this city. He helps lead the “For Our City” organization that brings together community leaders who work on local projects at the grass roots level. Kevin also coordinated our recent census efforts so Chandler will be sure to get its fair share of state and federal funding.
Kevin is a true fiscal conservative and understands the importance of our business community to the success of this city. He has made neighborhoods a priority in his campaign for Council. He will be there for the citizens of Chandler, helping to address their concerns and solve problems. I have worked with both Kevin and his opponent. He is inclusive and will work to bring people together. By contrast, his opponent is divisive and was the ringleader of some of the most embarrassing and negative episodes this city has ever had to endure. Chandler cannot afford to move backwards in this election. Lowell Huggins, former Chandler vice mayor
Past experience leads to yes vote
Vote yes for the passage of the Bond Election for Chandler Unified School District, for funding that will ensure that Chandler can continue to improve district schools and the quality of education.
My experience as a parent, taxpayer, member and past president of the Chandler Unified School District Governing Board, and my service as a member of the Chandler City Council all tells me that same thing. Every child deserves a quality education to help equip him/her to take our places as business and community leaders. A well-equipped and well- maintained facility provides the proper environment for this quality education to take place.
As concerned citizens and taxpayers we must exercise our right to vote in this important election, and we must vote for what we know is right. Bond election funding will provide the resources the District must have in order to renovate buildings that need it, maintain the integrity of existing buildings and to provide monies needed to construct additional classrooms and instructional space. Patti Bruno, past school board and councilmember
