Live jazz music is available for dinner and lounge patrons Saturday nights at the Crown Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort in historic downtown Chandler. Vocalist Laurie Fagen performs with Todd Martino on keys in AJ’s Cafe and the 1912 Lounge from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 16; the Stan Sorenson Duo provides jazz music on Sat., Oct. 23 with vocalist Lyn Jackson on Sat., Oct. 30. Laurie Fagen returns on Nov. 6 with Steve Sandner from Sedona on keyboard. The popular Saturday night prime rib dinners include a buffet with salads and other side dishes for $15.95 per person from 6 to 9 p.m. AJ’s and the 1912 Lounge at the San Marcos are located at 1 N. San Marcos Pl. in historic downtown Chandler, south of Chandler Boulevard on the northwest corner at Buffalo Street.

The 21st annual Arizona Classic Jazz Festival is held Nov. 4 through 7 at the Crowne Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort.
Bands from all over the country perform including All Stars, Blue Street, Cornet Chop Suey, 52nd Street, High Sierra, Ivory & Gold, Original Wildcat, Sun City Stomperz and more. Dance fl oors are available at all venues. Admission is $45 for Friday, $50 for Saturday and $35 for Sunday, or $95 for all events. The patio venue is free. Those ages 18 and younger are admitted free on Sun., Nov. 7 when accompanied by an adult. Tickets are payable at the door. In addition, Wally’s Warehouse Waifs presents their “Passing It On” program during 10 performances at Chandler elementary schools, made possible by the sponsorship of the San Marcos Resort and the Arizona Classic Jazz Society. Wally’s also performs at 7:30 p.m. Wed., Nov. 3, at the ASU Kerr Cultural Center in Scottsdale.

CGCC presents ‘Romantic Fools’
Chandler-Gilbert Community College Performing Arts presents “Romantic Fools,” a comic vaudeville for mature audiences, through Oct. 17. The play features 12 two-character sketches examining love, lust, dating and marriage.
