Chamber members save on FEMnominal Women celebration
Chandler Chamber members can save $10 on a $45 ticket at the 2nd Annual FEMnominal Women in Business Event from 9 am. to 2 p.m. Sat., Oct. 30 at The Castle at Ashley Manor, 1300 S. Price Rd. in Southern Chandler by entering code CHAMBER at

The event celebrates Women’s Small Business Month in October with a series of educational speakers, networking and shopping, with the theme, Brunch and Learn, to support women who want to grow or build their small business. Included on a panel discussion of area CEOs is Glynis LeGrand of The Urban Tea Loft in downtown Chandler with Shay Pausa of ChikkiTV, Jodi Towns of 10 til 2 and Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) Chairwoman Maryann Weiss. Moderator is Lainika Johnson-Colbert, CEO of Urban Corporate Media, a boutique public relations company focused on brand development and representation, who is also a featured guest on ABC 15’s Sonoran Living Live on the second Wednesday of the month.

Runners’ rehab seminar
Runners looking to “get back on track” are invited to a free seminar at Foothills Sports Medicine Physical Therapy from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., Nov. 6. The event is geared toward runners wishing to resume the sport after an injury or other derailment. Participants will hear physicians speak about foot, ankle and knee injuries, as well as running schedules. Personal trainers will instruct attendees on how to perform proper warm-ups, post-running stretches and strengthening exercises.

Leadership program seeks participants
Future city leaders are invited to take part in the Chandler Leadership Institute, a comprehensive leadership training program offered by the Chandler Chamber of Commerce.
Program participants attend a monthly class on issues affecting Chandler, including public safety, education, government, health, media, infrastructure and the environment. Class members interact one-on-one with experts and participate in a hands-on class project that benefi ts a Chandler-based organization.
The 2011 course begins Jan. 21 and runs through October. Applications are due Dec. 30.
The Chandler Leadership Institute has graduated more than 600 participants since 1984, including community leaders in politics, business, education and health care. To apply, visit

Rotary hosts ‘Bingo Bonanza’
Play bingo for a good cause at the upcoming Bingo Bonanza and Silent Auction fundraiser hosted by the San Tan Crown Rotary Club of Chandler. The event is held from 7 to 10 p.m. Thu., Nov. 4 at Inspirador, 63 E. Boston St. Admission costs $20 and includes up to 10 bingo games offering prizes such as golf, restaurant and spa certifi cates, and travel packages. The evening includes a 50-50 raffl e and silent auction, a beer and wine bar, and a professional DJ. Proceeds support the Rotary’s charitable projects including the Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank and St. Peter’s Mission School.
