Ducks winger Dan Sexton chronicles a typical day during Ducks training camp. (This piece also appears in Beyond the Boards, the Ducks’ official youth hockey publication)

7:00am Woke up and grabbed some breakfast in the Doubletree Hotel lobby.

8:30am

The guys and I are in the weight room stretching and warming up for the upcoming prac- tice. I usually ride the bike for about 10 minutes then foam roll and finally stretch again.

9:00am

Guys are in their gear as we make our way up to the video room. Coach Carlyle goes over several clips of our neutral zone forecheck as guys are getting a refresher on our team’s system.

9:30am

We get on the ice and play out what we watched on video. It’s a learning process so coaches are very diligent with helping guys understand our system.

10:00am

The team moves into flow drills to warm up our goalies as well as our legs. I enjoy these because it allows me to work on my puck han- dling and passing.

10:30am

Practice wraps up. We go back to the locker room to rest and get some flu- ids in us before we scrimmage.
