Park boundaries, there are no buff alo to contend with, just acres upon acres of excellent riding in the rugged Lit le Missouri National Grasslands. Antelope, mule deer and elk bound across the vast expanses past herds of cat le grazing on the nourishing hard grasses. T e Maah Daah Hey Trail traverses through many miles of the badlands as it winds along the Lit le Missouri River between the North and South Unit of TRNP and beyond. Area ranchers pay for the privilege to graze their cat le in the grasslands so please respect their rights and close all gates behind you. Sully Creek and the Lit le Missouri State Park along with countless private camping facilities off er a comfortable place to stay. T ere are many other great places throughout


North Dakota where you may bring your horse and enjoy the beautiful countryside. Rolling sandy hills forested by burr oak of the Sheyenne National Grasslands in eastern North Dakota give countless hours of riding along its trails. Ft. Ransom State Park trails run along the trees and prairie of the Shey- enne River bot om and the Turtle Mountain State Forest off ers a northern view of riding opportuni- ties – both exceptional in the brilliant fall colors. Out of state horses must have current health and negative Coggins certifi cates issued by their vet- erinarians. All feed used in state parks and national grasslands must be certifi ed noxious weed seed free. Remember to leave your campsite and trails as you would like to fi nd it, pristine and natural.
