Marie Sneddon, Manager of the Apprenticeship programme at the College said "We want to get the message out to employers that apprentices do pay their way and employers will see a visible return on their investment in a relatively short period of time."

Swindon College offers employers a FREE vacancy matching service, which will ensure that employers get the best suitable candidates. Full support is also given to employers throughout the process from trained and experienced assessors.


Funding Available We can offer full funding towards to cost of training an Apprentice (aged 16-18), with funding contributions available for Apprentices aged over 19. If any of your existing staff are between 16 and 19 they can still undertake an Apprenticeship programme in their current role.

Business first has launched an Apprenticeship Employer Network for businesses in Wiltshire who employ or who are looking to employ an apprentice.


The Network is a new, free initiative designed to bring employers together to discuss common experiences, issues and benefits while also accessing the vacancy matching service, candidate pre-screening, organisational needs analysis and free advice on funding. The scheme’s priority will be to match the right employers with the right apprentices.


Apprentice receives award for outstanding


achievement Rosie Cole won the Best Overall Apprentice of the Year award this year at the Swindon College FE Awards Ceremony. Rosie who has just completed her NVQ Level 3 Advanced Hairdressing, is a dedicated hairdresser with drive and enthusiasm. The Level 3 NVQ Hairdressing is all about fine tuning, professionalism and integrity and requires clear thinking and levelheadedness. Rosie encompasses all of this, no matter what is put in front of her and the Bernard Griffiths Salon has given Rosie excellent training.
