Train to Gain...
The Train to Gain service offers you free, impartial advice, matches your training needs with training providers and makes sure that training and support are delivered to meet your objectives. It’s designed to help businesses like yours solve the problems they might face when identifying training needs and choosing the right solutions.
Train to Gain Funding As well as helping you access other sources of funding, the Train to Gain service can also provide some funding itself.
This includes: Free training to help your employees gain their first, full Level 2 qualification A wide range of training for low-skilled employees The possibility of a contribution to wage costs for companies with less than 50 employees - to cover the cost of the time spent in training.

Swindon College receives accreditation
for third year... For the third consecutive year, Swindon College has been awarded the South West Lead Provider status for the National Skills Academy for Manufacturing, (NSA-M).
This was presented by Brian Thornton, (Regional Provider Manager South), The Sector Skills Council for Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technology (SEMTA), which is the parent company of NSA-M. Over the last three years, the College’s partnership with NSA-M and SEMTA has enabled Business First, (the commercial arm of Swindon College), to engage with over 100 new Manufacturing and Engineering companies both locally and regionally.
3 Day PTLLS Course with Business First
HOT OFF THE PRESS!
Business First is pleased to be able to offer employers a fast track option to complete the Level 3 PTTLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) Certificate. Working in partnership with CRW Training students can now complete this normally lengthy course in just 3 days.
PTLLS is the perfect course to introduce you to the skills and knowledge needed to cement your practical experience into a recognised qualification.
Funding for Skills Training News
New Government flexibilities introduced from August will enable Business First to offer local employers more flexible training solutions, some with Government subsidies*, helping reduce the pressure on overstretched training budgets in these challenging economic times.
* Eligibility Criteria applies
95% of employers surveyed are likely to recommend Business First, Swindon College to other employers who were looking to undertake training. 84% of employers are extremely satisfied with the overall quality of training and assessment provided by Business First Swindon College.
