with Tithegrove... Business First was pleased to celebrate with Tithegrove the successful completion of their initial NVQ programme. Seventy three learners successfully achieved their NVQ Level 2 in Plant Operations and one staff member completed the NVQ in Business Administration.


Tithegrove Ltd is a thriving, privately-owned, civil engineering groundworks contractor. Based at Swindon, in the M4 corridor, the company operates primarily in the south, south-west and south-midlands. The NVQs were undertaken as part of the continuous improvement programme throughout the business, enabling the majority of the staff to hold the blue CPCS card. This offers assurance to all contractors they work in unison with that the site personnel supplied are highly competent, qualified and fully compliant with legislation.


Bob Acock, Health and Safety Manager said “Even though times have been difficult we have still found it expedient to continue with training and development to empower our workforce.This helps to improve relationships with our partner companies on projects.It has helped Tithegrove to achieve the SIPP accreditation.The partnership between Tithegrove and Swindon College has been a successful one and we hope to continue with further qualifications and training in the future.By completing the NVQs,the employees have a sense of pride in their achievement and this has carried through into their daily working role,with site operatives being more confident and proactive in the workplace.”
