Summary:
Laidler Associates, will give a presentation on ‘Practical machinery safety including guarding issues’. Using its virtual reality system to re-create a typical working environment Laidler is able to bring to life the problems that are present and demonstrate how to provide safe solutions. Focusing on the practical, Laidler will also demonstrate how to complete and document a PUWER 98 (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 98) assessment or CE Marking to the Machinery and Low Voltage Directives.
Summary:
Why the concept of functional safety will change the behaviour of users and designers of automation systems, and why the use of ISO 13849 has led to growing interest in SISTEMA – software tool for the evaluation of applications to ISO 13849-1
Summary:
How implementing the latest Standards can open up new possibilities for Control and Safety Automation. Includes a case study.
Summary:
How the changes to the Machinery Directive and the introduction of BS EN ISO 13849-1 have allowed the introduction of new technology to be used that will make designers, installers and end users’ lives much easier, with particular reference to our programmable safety relay solutions and Monoflop technology. Also, how the use of a software package called Sistema assists in the determination of compliance to the new directive in relation to BS EN ISO 13849-1, particularly when used in conjunction with our Samos Pro programmable system.
Summary: Beckhoff, known as a leading supplier of PC-based technology, has integrated the Safety PLC. With a Safety PLC running on a standard Industrial PC, the performance available for the standard logic is now offered for the safety logic as well. The solution consists of software that is integrated into the TwinCAT system. This software allows safe processing of safety functions. No hardware extension is needed within the PC. That means that every PC can be used as a Safety PLC.
