submitted by Pelham High School Fashion Class

This year’s fashion class has a new assignment: remake an old garment into a fashionable, new outfit. Students in Mrs. Martin’s class have all found an older outfit that they will remake into a fashionable, current style. The students either purchased an outfit from a thrift shop or used an outfit their parents or grandparents wore. Students will draw the details for their new outfit and plan the changes they will make. Students will then alter their outfits, creating fashion from old clothing. The restyling project gives the student an opportunity to learn about fashion design and actually apply their knowledge to an actual outfit. Students also increase their awareness of the economic benefits of restyling a used garment. The students will model their new outfits at their fashion
