CHS Wolves Tarwater Toros

Class notes – Fifth-graders spent first-quarter science learning about forces and motion. Students experimented with several hands-on activities involving friction, levers, incline planes and more. To put their knowledge to the test, students were put in small groups to build a mousetrap car, ultimately competing to see whose car traveled the furthest. Science Camp – Sixth-graders attended Science Camp at the end of September in Prescott Pines. They analyzed the relationship among various organisms and their environment while cooperating in a group to achieve individual and group goals. Box tops – Tarwater is collecting Box Tops and Campbell’s soup labels. The class that collects the most gets a free movie party complete with soda and popcorn. Last year Tarwater earned about $3,000 with Box Tops, and Mr. Hensley ordered playground equipment with the money earned from Campbell’s soup labels. A new contest starts in February, so items should be saved year-round.
