Business Little time left for voter registration

Oct. 4 is the deadline for Chandler residents to register to vote if they want to be eligible to vote in the general election on Nov. 2. Early voting begins on Oct. 7.

The general election ballot will include a vote on the Home Rule Option as well as a choice between two candidates for the final open City Council spot. Councilmembers Jeff Weninger and Trinity Donovan were reelected in the primary election held earlier this year. No remaining candidates received enough votes to secure the third seat, but the next two top vote- getters, Kevin Hartke and Donna Wallace, advance to the runoff election.

Permanent solution to tooth loss

People who have lost teeth might often feel too self- conscious to smile or talk in public. Additionally, early tooth loss can change eating habits and facial appearance and lead to secondary health problems. Although you have a number of options for the replacement of missing teeth, none have proven to be as functionally effective and durable as dental implants. In many cases, dental implants are the only logical choice for the restoration of all necessary functioning of the teeth and supporting structures; dental implants provide a simple remedy with proven results.

Dental implants are stronger and more durable than

bridges and dentures. Implants offer a permanent solution to tooth loss and are changing the way people live. They are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth which look, feel and function like natural teeth. They are proven to preserve the jaw bone, gums and the adjacent natural teeth. The person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything, knowing that their teeth appear natural and that their facial contours will be preserved. We offer state of the art technologies and Dr. Shah is constantly implementing the latest techniques to provide you with the best care available. Patients who come to us can smile with confidence. Former Chandler Mayor and current State Sen. Jay Tibshraeny won the mayoral race running unopposed. The Home Rule Option, also known on the ballot as Proposition 410, is a measure submitted to voters by Chandler City Council asking for the continuation of the Local Alternative Expenditure Limitation for the City of Chandler. The Home Rule Option is a method of limiting local spending and must be voted on every four years. The proposal does not permit the City to spend more than it receives, and will not result in an increase in taxes or the creation of new taxes. Actual expenditures will continue to be subject to the public budgeting process and the City’s fiscal

policies. Chandler voters have approved a local alternative to the expenditure limit seven consecutive times since 1982, and approved a related measure earlier this year.

To register to vote or to change exist- ing registration information, visit the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office at For more information on the Chandler election, access or call the City Clerk’s office at 480-782-2180.

Design Center offers one-stop shopping

SanTan Sun area residents will be able to purchase carpeting, window coverings and blinds, area rugs, flooring, cabinetry, tile and counter tops all under one roof when Carpet Broker Design Center opens its Chandler location Oct. 9.

Retailers and contractors at the 13,000-square-foot showroom, located on the southwest corner of Warner and Alma School roads, include Blind Devotion, Arizona Rug Company, Lara’s Custom Cabinets, master granite fabricator Luis Hernandez, and M/J Contracting.

“Bringing trades together under one roof saves on overhead and increases selection for our customers,” explains Ed Momeni, owner of Arizona Rug Company. “Each of us on our own couldn’t afford to expand, but joining forces allowed us to do so.”

“Each customer’s needs are different,” adds Carpet Broker co-owner Karl Kramer. “We work closely with our customers to give each of them as much value as we can for what they can afford to spend.” The Carpet Broker Design Center, which also has locations in Sun City and Cave Creek, will continue to add retailers, but is selective about businesses they invite to join them, says Kramer, adding that quality and customer service continue to be their core values.

“This concept is really starting to mesh and come together,” says Blind Devotion owner Jerry Levinson. “Instead of laying people off, we’re hiring.”

The Carpet Broker Design Center is located at 1986 N. Alma School Rd. For information, call 480-558-9777 or visit
