mma Eaton offers reflexology from her home-based treatment room in Cobham and she kindly invited


me along to experience a treatment. I was having a pretty hectic day when I saw Emma and I must admit I was looking forward to taking some time out to relax and be calm for an hour or so! I have visited quite a few ‘home


treatment rooms’ whilst reviewing for Look Local, but I have to say this one takes the biscuit! A purpose-made treatment room, which was beautifully minimalist but tastefully calming. The treatment couch was certainly top of the range and everything was immaculately clean and fresh.


Prior to my visit, Emma had emailed me a form to fill in and return, which I dutifully did. She was therefore aware of my basic medical details and had


obviously taken the time to read my reply carefully. I removed my shoes and made myself comfortable on the couch. Emma is naturally friendly and made me feel very welcome and at ease straightaway. Relaxing music gently played and I could literally feel my heart beat calming as the treatment started. Reflexology is an ancient Eastern


complementary therapy that works on the feet or hands, enabling the body to heal itself. The theory is that following illness,


stress, injury or disease, the body is in a state of “imbalance”, and vital energy pathways are blocked, preventing the body from functioning effectively. Reflexology may be used to restore and maintain the body’s natural equilibrium and encourage healing. Reflexologists believe that organs of the
