will rise from the ashes…
By Dan Eslinger
Recently, I sat down with my good friend Bill Grace, owner of Galvins Dinnerhouse. Although we had talked on the telephone I hadn’t seen him since the devastating fire that had reeked such havoc on one of St. Joseph, MO’s oldest and most beloved restaurants.
After I found out that no one was hurt and the building was empty, I asked, “Did you have enough insurance?” Mr. Grace replied, “unfortunately… I was underinsured.” Then with a smile he continued, “God is so good. As soon as word got out about the fire. I had people calling me to ask how they could help. I took about two days to sort of gather myself and things just began to happen. Thanks to help from a lot of people and the grace of God, we are rebuilding and are going to re-open.” He then quoted Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
I was pleased to know that not only is Galvin’s Catering still available but Mr. Grace had some additional news, “Every Thursday night we are serving Galvin’s Chicken at Moila Country Club from 5pm to 8:30pm, no membership needed. Reservations would be appreciated” He then added, “Moila has been great through this whole thing.” We will continue to keep all involved in our prayers and encourage others to do so as well.
Galvin’s Catering is still available!
