BEST FOOT FORWARD

Next year is the 150th anniversary of the town and to this end we would like to encourage the townsfolk to look in their attics and dust down their Victorian costumes from yesteryear when everyone dressed up for the Victorian Week. Saltburn Community & Arts Association will be asking audiences to dress up during all our performances next year but we would like to start with the Flossie Malavialle concert on the 29th October 2010. Flossie will be performing songs from 1910 onwards in the Community Theatre, Albion Terrace, as part of our building centenary celebrations this year. There will be a prize for the best dressed ‘Victorian/Edwardian’. Let’s have some fun and enjoy these truly wonderful anniversaries.

SCAA Ltd Film Society

L’Homme du Train

Thursday 28th October at 7pm Nowhere Boy

Imagine John Lennon’s childhood: A spirited teenager, curious, sharp and funny, growing up in the shattered city of Liverpool. Two extraordinary sisters tussle for his love - Mimi,

the formidable aunt who raised him from the age of 5 and Julia, the spirited mother who gave him up to Mimi’s care. Yearning for a normal family, John escapes into art

and the new music flooding in from the US. His fledgling genius finds a kindred spirit in the young Paul McCartney. But just as John’s new life begins, the truth about his past leads to a tragedy he would never escape. Starring Aaron Johnson and Kirstin Scott-Thomas. Runtime 98min.
