these days. MAC is no different. I hope you recently completed the fi ve-year club survey to tell us how we are doing. We also dispense camp, class and event surveys. Several years ago the Facility Master Plan included focus groups and surveys too. We spend a lot of time and resources on surveys, but what happens to them once you fi ll in the last bubble or hit send on the computer? All the data from surveys, Sounding

Boards and general conversations gets coupled with fi nancial and safety reports and a host of other reports and data. It is all considered when prioritizing capital requests, establishing programs, and in a variety of planning aspects. We are entering the FY11 budget cycle; the information you have provided in those surveys is an impor- tant part of that process as well. From these surveys we heard your

request for full-day summer camp options, which our new format this past summer provided. You then told us how we need to improve the check-in process and a few other functions surrounding this new format, which we are addressing and plan- ning for in next year’s budget. You have told us you want more group exercise class offerings, and we are recommending more funds be made available to support some additional classes. And many of your energy-saving suggestions have been pursued to help make the club more effi - cient. These are a few of the ways your feedback is used. John Wooden once said, “When you

improve a little each day, eventually big things occur.” MAC continues to change a little each day through your input and ideas. For nearly 120 years MAC has counted on its members’ feedback as part of its culture. So the next time you receive a request to complete a MAC survey, I hope you continue to take a few minutes to let us know how we are doing so we can continue to achieve big things together.

I look forward to seeing you around the club this month. WM
