Travel abroad with us

LynchburgCollege alumni live inmore than forty coun- tries, and our alumni base continues to growand expand. Alumni also live in every state in theUnited States. It is great to think how well-represented lc is nationally and globally. During this year’s Relay for

Life at Lynchburg College, the theme was “Diversity Around theWorld,” and ourCentral Virginia Alumni Club represented alumni worldwide. Our students are also expanding their global

horizons. lc’s Study Abroad Program achieved dramatic growth this year;more than 25 percent of lc students graduate having participated in a study abroad experience. During the 2010-11 academic year, students will travel tomore than ten countries including South Korea, Italy, Peru, and China. LynchburgCollege inspires students to succeed

in a global society, and we want you, as our alumni, to do the same. In an effort to offer similar opportunities for you, we are expanding our alumni travel program.Next year, we will offer two travel opportunities in nine countries. Already several of you have committed to par- ticipate, and for those of you who have not yet done so, please join us.

These trips will allow our alumni to continue

their lifelong learning through exploration, while also expanding their networking bases and alumni contacts. I invite you to travel, explore, and learn. You will enjoy the experience and get to know some other amazing alumni. The first trip will begin on June 12, 2011 and

is a “Great JourneyThrough Europe,” visiting Switzerland, France, Germany, and Holland. Travelers will conclude the journey on June 22. Most of this trip is by train, allowing scenic views of the European countryside, the Rhine River, and medieval castles. Our second alumni travel trip begins

August 15 and wraps-up on August 26, 2011. This excursion is a “Historic Reflections” luxury cruise that visits Spain, France,Monaco, Italy, Greece, and Turkey. President Kenneth R. Garren and Sheila Garren will be joining our alumni on this exciting cruise through theMediterranean. To learn more about these travel programs,

contact the Office of Alumni Relations and share your interests at alumni@lynchburg.edu, 800.621.1669, or 434.544.8293.
