A swallowtail visits the new butterfly garden and restored Dorothy Freer Memorial Garden. Freer, who was administrative assistant to the president at the time of her death in 1969, was married to the late Dr. Ruskin Freer. The gardens, located between Elliot & Rosel Schewel Hall and Snidow Chapel, were designed by Curtis Layne ’83, director of campus grounds.
