An & Angel

Here is a bowl from An&Angel’s ‘Northern Lights’ collection. The Northern Lights collection of glass bowls which highlights striking colour displays - reminiscent of the elusive Aurora Borealis. Olive, lavender or teal hues contrast with white or black. The illuminating ‘dance of the spirits’ of these bowls, when placed in our earthly habitat, invokes celestial drama. The bowls are blown from the interior out, for example, the fi rst molten blob of glass placed on the end of the blowpipe is lavender, which is followed by a layer of white and then black and fi nally clear. The result is a thick-bottomed base that curves upward to provide a provocative fl are with fl air. Star of the table, indeed!

Italesse

Italesse present an innovative factor in the new A/W 2010 collection. Next to the violet and emerald green already present in the palette used by Italesse, black transparent is also entering into production; more than a colour it is really a shade, able to interpret perfectly the mood of the autumnal season in arrival, blending harmoniously with other nuances. Designed by the Scandinavians Claesson Koivisto Rune, ‘Tonic Beach Medium’ is the new multifunctional glass tumbler in Policrystal ®, part of the Italesse A/W 2010 collection. Unbreakable and dish-washable, Tonic is eye-catching due to its conical form that gives it a rigorously formal linearity and great practicality. Very easy to stack, the new proposal from Italesse has been dreamt up for every type of drink, from long to soft drinks, and from beer to water. The four colours chosen – clear, green, violet and black transparent – give ‘Tonic Beach’ great fl exibility for use in varying combinations, to decorate tables indoors and outdoors, multi-coloured or strictly black & white, formal or informal, eclectic or rational.
