As always, the FTS had the market cornered

on entertainment and excitement. Music from the Marshall Tucker Band, Ice-T, Bret Michaels, Billy Ray Cyrus’ new band Brother Clyde, and of course Jackyl kept the crowds jumping nightly. Jackyl front man Jesse James Dupree, always one to kick things up a notch, even decided to have himself launched out of a cannon, sailing over the FTS crowd. Top all this off with 100 bartenders hot enough to get the pulse racing, then throw in the mesmerizing performances of Angie and the Flaunt Girls, and you get a fraction of the big picture that is the Full throttle Saloon. Friday brought more drama in the form of an-

other of the new potential Wide Open Girls. On Friday night she advised us she had a friend pass away, and the following day she had two more rel- atives pass away. We took her to the bus station to get a ride back to Kansas City and on our trip we picked up another girl at the Rapid City Airport. While we started out with six girls, we realized four dedicated girls would be much better in the end. Our four smoking hot Wide Open Girls Stephanie, Mandy, Jackie, and new addition Kelly, busted their butts for us putting in long days while showing the sparkling personalities, and dynamite good looks they have come to be known by. This year I left most of the heavy partying to

Jesse, Skinny and the Wide Open Girls. Mean- while, I made my way back Mount Rodney to hang out on the party deck. In addition to the nightly free entertainment and $2 long necks, J.D. and Doug always have something up their sleeves to keep things interesting. As an example, on Sunday the guys put on a free feed for all the campers in at- tendance. Mount Rodney was once again packed to the gills. Even the addition of several more RV spots and even more “Caddy Shack” trailers was not enough to meet the demand of the rally crowd. The party deck was jumping as usual and all the amenities as well as the “center of the ac- tion” location of the Mt. Rodney RV and Camping Park will ensure its continued demand. Jesse and the Wide Open Girls decided to

take a little sight seeing tri so the girls could check out some of the notable attractions of the black hills. Wouldn’t you know it, they got pulled over. Believe it or not they even got the joy of a narcotic sniffing dog looking for something. Needless to say they found nothing and only managed to achieve wasting Jesse and the girls’ time. Advice for Mead County’s finest, if you really want to get up close to the Wide Open Girls, just some to our trailer next time.

Once again the Wide Open staff had a great

time and met hundreds of new friends. We can’t wait to see all the action again on TruTV when the new season of the Full Throttle Saloon reality show kicks in the November. In the meantime we will shake off all the headaches from the journey this year, and remember in this case it was the desti- nation that counted after all. We would like to extend special thanks to

Michael Ballard and Angie from the Full Throttle Saloon for allowing us to be part of their specta- cle, and to J.D. Lawson and Doug Clark of the Mt. Rodney RV and Camping Park for providing us a home away from home. We have said this a hun- dred times, but it is worth saying again. Both of the destinations’ lodgings fill up early. If you snooze you lose. Make your reservations or the 2011 Sturgis Rally NOW!
