The First Dance of your wedding; probably the most important dance of your life since that first encounter in a darkened room, but this time it’s in front of all your family and friends with cameras flashing and VCRs recording every move.
It can be more than a little daunting when the best you can both manage is a shuffle that’s not in time with the music, which is why we met up with Craig Childs from Loving2Dance.
Craig is an expert. Having progressed from a child dance medallist to a fully trained dance teacher, Craig’s enthusiasm and expertise will make the learning fun. In four or five one hour lessons in the privacy of your own home, Craig will train both partners to perform the perfect routine.
You may already have your music or you may want inspiration, either way Craig can work it all out and will choreograph the perfect moves for you to make the most of the magic of the day. Oh, and as Craig points out there are plenty of occasions earlier, or later on, where the ability to cut a dash on the dance floor can be really impressive. He’s taught couples approaching an important anniversary and speaks of how he loved teaching a group of golf club members a routine to liven up a Christmas party. The happy added bonus was that these group sessions became “must go” social events in their own right!
The social interaction of dance, particularly modern jive makes the classes fun and as such they become a great tool for breaking down barriers and inhibitions, so as well as keeping you fit they are incredibly useful in team building exercises.
