WHAT’S SHOWING? BrandMaster
WHAT DOES IT DO? BrandMaster is a stereoscopic master control switcher with inte- grated branding. The internation- al launch of Pixel Power’s stereo- scopic 3D technology brings the ability for operators to make dynamic adjustments to the eye separation and the Z-Plane posi- tion, ensuring that graphics remain in the correct visual space, allowing broadcasters to maximise the 3D viewing experi- ence. Pixel Power has also intro- duced enhancements to its BrandMaster Control System, a user configurable, any-screen-to- any-device branding and master control environment. Customers can deploy video switch panels designed with traditional master control layout in mind combined with full-colour TFT switches that can display images of graphics and video assets, alone or in com- bination with soft panels config- ured and hosted within the Pixel Power Management Console envi- ronment.

WHAT’S NEW? Channel Director
WHAT DOES IT DO? PubliTronic will be demonstrating its new design tool, Channel Director, at this year’s IBC. PubliTronic’s Nexus playout servers and Channel Director work together to provide export functionality from the design environment to the playout envi- ronment. Channel Director also
enables offline working and sup- ports 3D design content. PubliTronic will also be showcas- ing its new Cobalt TX-MAM trans- mission media asset management system and its third-generation Nexus playout platforms. Cobalt TX-MAM introduces the feature of asset jobs, offering the ability to analyse scheduled assets during transmission.

WHAT’S SHOWING? RRsat Global Network
WHAT DOES IT DO? RRsat will be promoting its con- tent production and playout cen- tre and the RRsat Global Network of over 40 MCPC digital satellite platforms integrated with fibre optic capacity, providing uplink, downlink and turnaround services in SD and HD from and to any- where in the globe, reaching cable TV, DBS, IPTV and mobile service operators or internet TV and direct-to-home viewers. The company will also be discussing its new strategic partnership with BT and the combined capabilities that this offers broadcasters and operators in leveraging the com- bination of RRsat’s capabilities in content management and global distribution services with BT’s Global Media Network and exist- ing satellite portfolio. The alliance will allow RRsat customers to use BT’s media switch in London to offer dedicated bandwidth for 24/7 delivery of TV content to RRsat for further distribution and occasional use event coverage like for major sporting events, while BT’s media customers will gain access to the RRsat Global Network of satellite services.

WHAT DOES IT DO? Centered around the eventIS con- verged Service Delivery Platform (cSDP), demonstrations will show capabilities including video streaming to Apple’s iPad; frame- accurate content pause-and- resume among devices and net- works; and cross-platform offer management – all supported by a single integrated delivery plat- form that ensures optimal video QoS over any network topology. Demonstrations will also show how the cSDP secures opportuni- ties in hybrid broadcast broad- band TV; the CI Plus enhance- ment to DVB; and content water- marking with partner Civolution.

WHAT DO THEY DO? DataMiner 6.5 is the latest major update to Skyline’s DataMiner network management system platform and will be demonstrat- ed for the first time at IBC. Updates include the new DataMiner Cube UI, the latest ver- sion of the DataMiner CPE Manager, and a new version of DataMiner’s service management technology. The DataMiner Cube UI includes user-definable drag
WHAT DO THEY DO? Snell will launch Centra at this year’s IBC. This is the company’s control and monitoring platform that delivers unified control, mon- itoring, and playout right across a business. Through enhanced inte- gration with Snell products and third-party broadcast and IT tech- nology, Snell says Centra brings new operational efficiencies through centralised configuration and control to all areas of real- time content preparation, infra- structure management, studio, and OB productions. Productions can be switched and infrastruc- ture can be reconfigured at the press of a button, says Snell. Also making its debut at IBC will be a new range of control panels for Centra. Snell will also introduce the Sirius 830, the latest in the company’s Sirius 800 series of large-scale, multi-format expand- able routers.
