Netia STAND 1.A29
WHAT’S NEW? Content management system;
WHAT DO THEY DO? Netia, exhibiting with parent com- pany GlobeCast, will introduce its upgraded suite of media asset management solutions which, according to the company, allows customers to streamline their production processes through easy-to-manage workflows and task automation. The new soft- ware suite also allows users to connect partners and vendors within a single production ecosys- tem, simplifying the sharing and managing of media assets. Users can now manage all of the processes within the production environment – from editing through post and distribution –
through a new web-based inter- face, built on Microsoft Silverlight technology. All modules provide for ingest and quality control; metadata extraction and tagging; search, browse and low-res proxy generation; integration with key third-party systems including QA, tape/disk-based archive, non-lin- ear editing, playout and traffic automation; and multiplatform delivery to mobile TV, VoD/Catch Up TV, IPTV, Web streaming, and HD and SD distribution platforms. Netia will also demonstrate its Radio-Assist 8 range of digital audio automation software, high- lighting its two new modules: CamDirector and Netia Workflow Engine, first introduced at the NAB Show earlier this year. It will also illustrate the integration between Radio-Assist and Netia’s asset management system.

At the Omneon IBC stand, an Omneon MediaGrid active stor- age system will be integrated with a production server to enable fast access to incoming media used in live and near-live broadcast production. Omneon will demonstrate how a single, shared storage resource can be the basis for a production envi- ronment, simultaneously sup- porting production tools from Adobe, Apple, Avid, and EVS. The Omneon MediaGrid also will provide the processing power for Omneon ProXchange to repackage edited content for rapid delivery to other media distribution outlets. The Omneon Spectrum media server system is a server platform for multichannel playout, news, sports highlights, and studio production workflows. Omneon will highlight new Spectrum media server components that

expand the system’s capability to support today’s bandwidth- intensive broadcast environ- ments. The Omneon MediaDeck system is the foundation for the new MediaDeck GX solution, an integrated channel-playout product that combines video server playout, graphics, and audio processing. Omneon ProXplore is a media clip and metadata management applica- tion for the Omneon platform with multisystem search, con- tent movement, and organisa- tion based on physical or user-
defined metadata properties. The Omneon Media Application Server (MAS) enables enter- prise-wide visibility and man- agement of content. Omneon MAS provides an intelligent middleware layer between media content stored across multiple storage systems or video servers and the applica- tions that are used to access that content or perform media processing tasks on content as it moves through its lifecycle.

WHAT’S SHOWING? Interactivity Suite and Desk
WHAT DO THEY DO? The Interactivity Suite (IS) con- sists of various software applica- tions that enable viewers to influ- ence a broadcast in real time and to interact with one another. It also enables broadcasters to multi-publish user-generated con- tent and to multisource aggregat- ed content from social sites. It also gives owners and advertisers
a means to track consumers across different media, communi- cating individually with them and tailoring and optimising each indi- vidual’s content and sponsor envi- ronment. The company will also highlight Interactivity Desk (ID), a software tool for on- and off-air editorial control of interactive and multisourced social media con- tent. ID harvests various forms of internal and viewer contribution data, including text, images, audio, and video, and enables the editor to schedule, moderate, edit, and sort the data before submis- sion to broadcast systems, social networking sites, internet pages, or set-top or IPTV middleware.
