70 Compiling the list


In order to qualify for inclusion, individuals had to be born, raised or currently based in Yorkshire. In order to decide who to include in the list and in what order they should be ranked, the beyond team considered the relative contribution of individuals to political, business, social and/or cultural life in 2010, with eminent artists and innovators as likely to be included as senior politicians and multi-millionaire businesspeople. The formation of the list was determined solely by the beyond team, and represents the personal deliberations and decisions of those involved in this process.
