Delmatic has supplied a sophisticated lighting management system to The London Clinic’s new cancer centre, providing enhanced control for patients and staff while minimising lighting energy consumption. The lighting management system, comprising a range of products from Delmatic’s Metro family of products, uses a DALI (digital addressable lighting interface) control module to deliver digital dimming and scene setting throughout patient rooms and wards, as well as monitoring and highlighting lamp failure.

A combination of energy efficient Brilliance T5 fluorescent fittings and BlueWave two-channel controllers from Chalmor is helping Myerscough College near Preston save up to a predicted £39,000 per annum on lighting costs. The savings on carbon emissions, combined with a fast payback, enabled the College to qualify for a substantial energy efficiency grant from the Learning and Skills Council (LSC).

Hamilton Litestat will unveil an update of its Digital Mercury lighting control system at this year’s Decorex event. The improved Digital Mercury intelligent dimming system will be centrally operated via a range of newly designed boxes, usually hidden out of view in an under-stairs cupboard. Hamilton has designed a series of ready-made boxes with four, eight or twelve circuits which will be simple to install and available quickly. Visit stand number J317 at Decorex on 26–29 September at Royal Hospital Chelsea.

The One-LUX range of microwave motion sensors delivers outstanding benefits when compared with traditional infra-red sensors. A major advantage is that the sensors can ‘see’ thorough plastic and glass, enabling installation inside luminaires without compromising IP rating and facilitating retrofitting. One-LUX microwave sensors are also less sensitive to the ingress of dust and other objects and therefore offer stable and reliable operation.
