implementation of a major update to Focus DIY’s bathroom category across 175 stores. Focus DIY’s objective for the project was to increase sales by improving the range of products available in its bathroom category whilst optimising space and enhancing the relationship between different ranges. It also wanted to improve the retail environment by installing and remerchandising new POP displays. In just four weeks Momentum updated


20,876ft of POP, including the installation and merchandising of 10,627 new POP display units across 5,200 bays. More than 87,500 stock keeping units (SKUs), an average of 500 SKUs per store, were merchandised. ‘Investment in display stands and POP is


wasted unless they are well positioned and correctly assembled,’ believes Mike Kirchin from Plan 2 Install. ‘Impulse purchase will never be stimulated with poor promotional or product displays. POP is best implemented when installed professionally, guaranteeing a high level of compliance and return on investment.’ Investment in good quality POP is


essential, which is correctly positioned within a store – but the right balance is needed. Too much POP could overwhelm customers and lose a potential sale.
